Lake Tinaroo
Situated on the Tropical Cairns Highlands, Far North Queensland, Australia.
Lake Tinaroo itself is an extremely popular tourist destination for people from all over the world. Lake Tinaroo's 209km coastline has a variety of flora, tropical rainforest, wetlands forests and grasslands. It is a complex habitat for a myriad of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and the famous platypus.
Recreational use of the beautiful lake is high with activities including, canoeing, swimming, fishing, red claw potting, camping, walking, bird/wildlife watching and more. The famous Barra Bash is held on the lake each year and at 37.85kg Tinaroo holds the world record for the largest freshwater barra caught.
It is also very popular with locals seeking to escape the humidity of the coast during the warmer months.

We launch the BBQ Boat from Tinaburra boat ramp at Yungaburra just over an hours drive from Cairns.
